What is the Summer Reading Program?
The Summer Reading Program is a series of programs that encourage children to enjoy the benefits of the library. Speakers have been contracted to present programs that are educational and fun. Children often have the opportunity to create a craft at the end of some programs. Local businesses and residents donate money and prizes to their community library that afford the
Belmont County District Library the funding to hold these special summer programs, and provide incentives and door prizes for the children. All programs are free and open to the public. A library card from the
Belmont County District Library is required for certain drawings and prizes.
What age group is allowed to participate in the Summer Reading Program?
Although these programs are geared for students in school, all ages are encouraged to attend and participate as much as they can in the programming.
